FINE ART/FINE CRAFT AWARDS

Each year the Lakeshore Art Festival awards $3,000 in cash prizes to our Fine Art/Fine Craft exhibitors. A complete list of past winners is available at the bottom of this page. These awards are made possible through support from Nichols.

This year’s Fine Art/Fine Craft on-site juror will be Sarah Weber. Sarah Weber was born in the Upper Peninsula from the small-yet-not-so-small town of Iron Mountain, Michigan. In 1999, she moved to Grand Rapids, MI to attend Kendall College of Art and Design. Earning a BFA in 2004 with emphasis in Painting, she was awarded a graduate fellowship to continue her education at KCAD and earned a MFA in Assistant Professor at Grand Valley State University. In the studio she is creating a series of drawings and painting that focus on how cellphones and social media affect face to face conversations. When Sarah is not teaching or creating art, she enjoys traveling, bike riding, reading, and hiking.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS

Do you love an artist’s work in the Craft section? Let your voice be heard! Every year we have a People’s Choice Award that goes to the craft artist with the most votes – determined by you! More information to come. These awards are made possible through support from the Women’s Division Chamber of Commerce.
